spinnaker halyard wear

We have recently taken delivery of a new 36.7 and sailed it seriously for the first time over Easter in the Red Funnel Regatta. We used the kite in 3 races only due to problems with other pieces of gear. At the end of the 3rd day the starboard spinnaker halyard was almost cut through where it goes through the spectacles on the mast when stowed. We had stowed the halyards behind the shrouds tied off to the same halyard between the mast gate block and the deck organiser.

The dealer is refusing to replace the halyard saying that it had been stowed incorrectly. Has anyone else had problems like this. Having been up the mast to inspect the spectacles I found thet the halyard has to pass over the sharp edge of the casting which I feel is the main cause of the halyard failure.

I would be interested to hear from anyone re the above.
