Many Thanks To Tom Coldicott who sails a 260S In Dubai For the following solution to the above problem.
A tightness was found when trying to furl the jib and often caused the Jib to lock up fully, A real pain if the spinny had just been set and you were otherwise occupied. My own solution was to release the Jib haliard a touch and this eased the problem. However the real solution was identified and solved by Tom, I did this Mod last season and it has worked flawlessly,
The Black Drum at the top of the Furling section was catching the haliard and attempting to rotate it with the jib,As the haliard went around the forestay it came up short and Jammed the operation ...
Solution.. Remove the drum and as added precaution and by way of a guide a small S/S loop was added to the mast at drum height.. Brilliant ... Stu Has Toms pics and will post them Soon ... Iain
