We're considering a 260/25.7 Lift Keel as a possible first crusier (to satisfy the dinghy racer in the family!) However, our 8m trot mooring on the Dart is drying and the alternatives we're considering are twin keel (ie Griffon/Hunter 245). My brother keeps a Griffon on the same trot and when it dries its two keels are sunk well into the soft mud. The question is- could the First safely dry twice daily onto soft mud? Would it put too much stress on the keel/rudders? Is it likely the mud might clog the keel slot/ interfere with the mech? The boat would probably have fairly freqent use. Any advice would be very gratefully recieved. Jon Truscott Somerest UK
