Forgive the following non-sailing language; we have only been sailing since April 2006 Occasionally when furling the genoa back around the foremast? we find that the rope (?halyard) has escaped the area contained within the drum and wrapped around the foremast? (above and below) and because of the tension we have applied attempting to put the sail away it is extremely tight and therefore very difficult to unravel This is also hampered severely by the fact that the drum is in the anchor locker and not easy to get to Other yachts have the drum outside/above the anchor locker – much easier to get to We have a short length of chain and a pulley in the anchor locker that guides the rope (halyard?) into the drum, but this obviously does not always work accurately I am concerned that one day we are going to have to reef the foresail in quickly and will not be able to Does anyone have a solution please, or alternatively can we convert to drum outside/above the anchor locker Many thanks Ken
