I bought a 26 year old Evasion 32 in November. Having completely refurbished the boat we stripped the forecabin linings last week to find that there was a 10 inch horizontal crack each side of the stainless fixing for the babystay between the rear of the chain locker and the front of the forecabin peak. We have put 3 x 600 gsm mat to strengthen the area. Note that there is no perceptable cracking on the gelcoat on the deck. Had for any reason the main forestay become loose, the extra strain on the babystay would have ripped the fitting out of the deck.... be warned!
