Be Warned...... I used some plastic insulating tape to mask the edges prior to cutting an aperature for an instrument (to avoid pencil lines on the wood). The tape was not in contact with the wood for more than 30 seconds when I removed it to reposition it and found that the top layer of lacquer lifted with the tape! As a result, I had to remove all the lacquer from the wood (by sticking strips of tape) before repolishing it. Fortunately the wood affected was a small overhead panel, but it still required a few hours of time to effect the repair. 'm just glad it was not a bulkhead! David Antares Series 9 Owner
Do not stick adhesive tape onto the polished wood work for any reason!
