Which VHF radio shall we fit.

In the fitting out of Aurora for her venture south to the Solent we are currently asking ourselves which VHF radio do we fit. Obviously DSC but then what after that? The rest of the boat is all Raymarine so does that make it easier as it doesn't seem to make it cheaper.
Any recommendations from experience most welcome
