Opened the floor up in the cockpit and........

My 411 has an inspection hatch from the helm to the rear of the cockpit, it covers the steering mechanism and autopilot sensor and end of the autopilot ram, some weeks ago the autopilot stopped working and kept giving an error message so while on the mooring I decided to investigate why, or just to give it all a lube. Lifted floor 4 screws and the inspection hatch in the back of the helm and was surprised to see the recess full of water where the cables and electrical ducting at the rear it narrows to and inch or so and with all the rubbish and washing down the cockpit floor the drains had blocked leaving a pool with dams
so lots of soapy water and an old sponge and stick and the small Karcher pressure washer I keep in the locker, all was cleaned lubed and the steering seems lighter and smoother and bonus! Autopilot is working again !
