Round the Island Race

The BOA Solent reps, Richard Aubry & Colin Firth are hopefully organising a BOA 'flotilla' o enter the race, with the same general modus operandi as used for last year's event. Namely, any member boats interested wil meet up at Island Harbour Marina on Friday 30th June. The start is at around 5.30 - 6.30AM, depending on class, so Island Harbour is a very conveneint start point being only 30 minutes or so from the actual start line. We would also go back to the marina after the race for a meal and drinks, before departing for home ports on the Sunday.
Last year we had 4 boats at Island harbour plus 3 other BOA boats taking part in the race, but staying at other marinas.
All BOA boats taking part are eligable for entry into the BOA Challenge Cup which will be presented on the Saturday evening after the race, at Island Harbour Marina.
If any BOA members would like to take part as crew, rather than on their own boats, please contact Colin or Richard and they will try to match you up with any boats light on crew, however anybody interested in crewing would probably have to take their own boats to Island Harbour in order to sleep on them on the Friday and Saturday nights.
So far, both 'Liberty' and 'Flying Fish' are light on crew....
