Drying out a fin keeler like our Oceanis 473

Hi everyone, does anyone have any experience with drying out a 473 please? We are fed up paying so much for regular lifts when the good old river Itchen fouls us up again all too quickly. There is a good local spot to lean against but my worry is will the boat sit down on her rudder and if it did could it stand an axial load up the shaft?

I dive over the side occasionally and have a good scrub with fine scotchbrite but it seems to remove so much anti-fouling as well in the process (ENO). I have thought about using a makeshift cradle under the stern as she settles down but would rather hear from others who have actually dried out the old fashioned way!!

Cheers, Martin and Lucy
